Home Schooling

It’s getting to be that time of the year again.  Time to start back to school!  Kids are moaning, and parents are probably rejoicing after a long summer.  But no matter your thoughts, the new school year is right around the corner.

For some parents, they are excited to get their kids back to class, because they have full confidence in the school their children attend.  For others, the list of complaints about their child’s school is longer than the list of positives.  Many people today look at our school systems and decide to home school their kids thinking, “I can give them a better education, and protect them from the influence of all the dangers that are found in the public school by keeping them at home, and teaching them myself.”

Well, regardless of your feelings towards your child’s school, do you realize that you have an even greater responsibility as a parent when it comes to home schooling.  As a matter of fact, I plan to home school both of our kids.  In fact, I believe that EVERY child should be home schooled, and that it is the responsibility of the parent to do so.  I even believe that it is scriptural as well.

But understand this, it has nothing to do with adding and subtracting, grammar or science.  It does deal a bit with HIStory though.  Every parent has the duty to teach their kids the things of God, and to give them a spiritual foundation.  So parents, never forget your role as a teacher, and make sure that you are home schooling your children.

In Christ,
